General and Land Acknowledgment

I wish to acknowledge that information, as it stands in my posts, is my own understanding of the Seattle’s landmarks’ history and present. I have wrought it from over two decades of learning about Seattle in many places and from many sources: lectures, city tours, museum exhibits, podcasts, newspaper articles, videos, etc. Where I can pinpoint information to the source, I do it within the text of the post. When information is ubiquitous, I can provide no reference.

Please know that any factual errors are unintentional. If you know that I have made a mistake and have evidence for it, please let me know.

I acknowledge that I live and write on the Indigenous land, the traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, particularly the still-unrecognized Chief Seattle’s Duwamish Tribe. I am grateful for their spirit as I write on the land on which they have been and still are the original stewards and storytellers.

As a small part in honoring the value that Chief Seattle’s People have shared with us, I pay Real Rent Duwamish.
